Camps

Mickey Dean Softball Camps LLC are owned and operated by Radford University Head Softball Coach Mickey Dean. Since entering the coaching profession in 1996, Dean has coached at every level of softball. Along with coaching at Radford, Dean holds the head coaching/general manager position with the 2008 National Pro FastPitch League champions Chicago Bandits and is the pitching coach for the Venezuelan National Team. Dean has held camp and clinics across the United State, Canada and South/Central America.

Summer 2010 Softball Camp

The three day camp will be held July 13 to July 15, 2010 (Tues through Thur), from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The camp is open to participants ages 8 to 18. Instruction will cover all aspects of the game which include hitting, defense, throwing, base-running, pitching, and catching. Campers will learn the proper techniques of softball and have the opportunity to improve their skills.


Date: Tues to Thur July 13 - 15, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Ages: 8 to 18
Where: Botetourt Sports Complex

COST:

Overnight Camper - $325.00 Fee includes T-shirt, meals, housing, and insurance.
Day Camper - $250.00 Fee includes T-shirt, lunch, and insurance.
Late fee for camp registration will be an additional $25 charge.

Overnight campers will be provided with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They will also have transportation from the complex to the hotel.


Facility Information - DIRECTIONS: Traveling on 81, take Exit 150 toward U.S. Route 220 North, towards Fincastle. Travel 1.7 miles and turn left at the light onto Catawba Road (Route 779). Continue for 1.8 miles and turn right onto Etzler Road (672). Proceed down Etzler Road for .8 mile until you see the sign for Recreation Park at Greenfield. Turn right and you will see the Botetourt Sports Complex on the right.
